  • 📘 NEBOSH GIC1 – Structure & Detailed Topics

    The course is divided into two main units covering both management theory and practical hazard assessment:

     Unit IG1 – Management of Health & Safety (Theory)

    (This is assessed by an open-book examination)

    Element 1: Why we should manage workplace health and safety

    Element 2: How health & safety management systems work & what they look like

    Element 3: Managing risk – understanding people and processes

    Element 4: Health & safety monitoring and measuring

    These elements give you the core management theory you need to understand and improve safety systems at work. 

    Unit GIC2 – Risk Assessment (Practical Assessment)

    (This is a workplace-based risk assessment you must complete)

    This unit focuses on identifying real workplace hazards and developing control measures.

    Element 5: Physical & psychological health

    Element 7: Chemical & biological agents

    Element 8: General workplace issues

    Element 9: Work equipment
